The Power of One
First and foremost, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for attending last night's gathering. It was a pleasure to welcome new participants, and we are truly grateful for their presence among us. Let us embrace them with open arms and make them feel at home within our loving community.
During my morning reflections today, I came across a quote by Kari Lake that resonated deeply within me. She stated that the most powerful weapon we possess is our voice. It reminded me of the importance of honing our voices, empowering ourselves through education, and understanding the vision of our founding fathers. By delving into the essence of our Constitution and its interpretations, we equip ourselves to articulate our beliefs with conviction. I encourage each one of you to not only continue attending our educational classes but also to invite your friends and family to join us. Remember, the more voices we gather, the stronger our collective influence becomes.
Last night's discussion on the story of Job left a profound impact on our hearts. Through the divine providence of God, Job endured numerous trials and emerged as a stronger and more resilient person. Similarly, I believe that it is through God's guiding hand that we will not only endure but also safeguard our country and protect the sanctity of our Constitution. Let us hold onto this unwavering faith, knowing that we are part of a greater plan.
I want to express my gratitude to Windy for sharing the reading on Job and to Carmen for her uplifting and optimistic attitude. Everyone's contributions enrich our discussions and bring us closer together as a group.
Our exploration of history last night reminded us of the incredible impact small groups can have on larger causes. The Swamp Fox (Francis Marion) and the Marbleheads from the Revolutionary War era exemplify this truth. Though small in number, they played a pivotal role in the success of the war. If you are interested in learning more about their stories, I recommend two insightful books: "The Swamp Fox: How Francis Marion Saved the American Revolution" by John Oller and "The Indispensables: The Diverse Soldier-Mariners Who Shaped the Country, Formed the Navy, and Rowed Washington Across the Delaware" by Patrick K. O'Donnell.
Now, onto another exciting announcement! I am in the process of scheduling a virtual work session to craft an amendment for the upcoming Convention of States simulation, scheduled for the first part of August. This event aims to foster meaningful discussions and promote citizen participation in shaping our future. By creating our own amendments, we actively contribute to the dialogue and gain a deeper understanding of the democratic process. You can find more information about the simulation here.
I will keep you all informed of the progress we make in this endeavor, and I hope many of you will join me in this collaborative effort.
May you all be filled with hope, resilience, and a sense of purpose as we continue our spiritual journey together. Remember, our voices matter, and together, we can create positive change.
Blessings to you all,
Cheryl
